Gens Open Up Season In Elora

The Welland Generals open up their 2022 season tonight on the road in Elora to take on the Mohawks.  Signed to the club for the 2022 season opener are Hunter Berry, Patrick Thompson, Jayden Korte, Liam Haine, Justin Porga, Thad Buttigieg, Lucas Long, Dawson battersby Jakob Bomberry, Billy Dale, ethan Wellings, Blake Colonell, Teegan Lines, and Hayden Miller. The Generals will also be looking to Affiliated Players, Sebastien Rees, Julian Rees, Hunter Hdalgo of the Fort Erie Intermediates, Alex Reis from the Pelham Midget Raiders and from the Six Nation Jr C Warlocks, Teegan Henry, Hagwas Hill and Sagoyehdehs Hill to add some depth to the club. The Gens will be in tough against the 2018 Founders Champion Mohawks as they are coming off a 10-3 win over the Six Nation Rebels on Friday night.

GENS NAME CAPTIANS

The Welland Generals have named their captains for the 2022 season. Wearing the 'C' to start will be Hayden Miller while the Alternates will be Justin Porga, Billy Dale and rookie Daawson Battersby.

GENS & STEALTH SIGN AFFILIATION AGREEMENT.

The Welland Generals and the Six Nation Stealth Jr C have formed an affiliation for the upcoming 2022 season. The affiliation was given the go ahead by both the Jr A Arrows and the Jr B Rebels. We would like to thank the Rebel's Organizations in allowing us to have this affiliation.

NEW COACHING STAFF

 The Welland Generals will be heading into the 2022 season with a new bench staff. Roman Hill will take on a double roll for the Gens as Head Coach and GM. Blue Hill and Mike Attwood have also been named to the coaching staff.

WE ARE BACK: TRYOUTS HAVE BEGUN

After the cancellation of the 2020 season and a partial 2021 season of exhibition games, when it was possible, it looks as though the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League will be heading for a full return  in 2022. 

     The Welland Generals began their preparation for the upcoming 2022 season on Saturday afternoon with the first of the three tryouts being held at the Haig Bowl in St Catharines. Session 2 goes Saturday March 12 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and then two weeks later session 3 goes on March 26 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM before moving back to Welland beginning April 4.
